Every Saturday Morning 8am-Noon:  Light Under The Bridge Homeless Ministry, non-profit

Matthew 25: 34-40 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?  When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’  “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

We are happy as a church body to partner with Light Under The Bridge Homeless Ministry. What began as six sack lunches one weekend, grew into a team of volunteers and 80-100 lunches each weekend. They have two locations and divisions of Light Under The Bridge. The Northwest/Seattle LUTB Division and our Florida LUTB Division. From coast to coast their mission is simple, to remind the homeless that they are not forgotten!

Light Under The Bridge goes where most charities will not go, they go under the freeways, bridges, and into the woods looking for the homeless that are not involved with the missions, shelters, and soup kitchens. These are the homeless that indeed feel forgotten, that is until they meet the volunteers from Light Under The Bridge. They not only feed, clothe, and bring various supplies to the homeless, but through the relationships Light Under The Bridge has established with various faith based recovery homes, they are able to offer the homeless real hope-Jesus Christ and a way off the streets!

  • Join Jon Meer and Kathleen McKenzie, directors of the NW division of LUTB, every Saturday as they go under the bridges of Seattle feeding and ministering to the homeless. Are you interested in helping or have questions, contact Jon Meer. They go to downtown Seattle every Saturday morning to hand out food, supplies, and minister to the homeless. They invite you to join them on this weekly outreach and to support this ministry through your donations. A box is always available at the back of the sanctuary to deposit your donated items. Monetary donations will be used to purchase supplies. Donations are tax deductible.
