Who we are and what we believe

MISSION: The mission of Shorewood Foursquare Children’s Ministry is to bring children into a loving relationship with God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit; thereby producing godly character that is demonstrated to families, friends, and the world around them.

Objectives: Head, Heart, and Hands

HEAD Focuses on the child’s mind and knowledge of God, seeking to increase their understanding of Biblical Truth

HEART Addresses the child’s need to participate in the relational aspects of knowing and serving the Lord, such as worship, discerning the Holy Spirit, the development of a healthy conscience, and being able to receive God’s love.

HANDS- Represent our need to be able to practically apply the truth we learn to how we live our lives, and walk in obedience of what we know is right.

FOUNDATIONAL TRUTHS:

We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of the living God: true, steadfast, and  unchangeable.

72We believe that  there is one true living God who is infinitely holy, loving and glorious. We believe that there is unity between the distinct and separate roles of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but by disobedience fell from purity and innocence into sin. We believe that we justly deserve the punishment of God.

We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, bearing our sins, paying our penalty and pardoning those who believe in him by faith.

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace, that we have no righteousness of our own by which to seek divine favor.

We believe that upon sincere repentance, Godly sorrow for sin, and whole hearted acceptance of Jesus, those who call on him are justified by faith.

We believe that a very real change takes place in the heart and life at conversion, that the sinner is born again, that old things have passed away and that all things become new.
